Poy-Sian — Thailand's Legendary Herbal Inhaler & Balm Since 1936
Poy-Sian is one of Thailand's oldest and most recognized nasal inhaler and herbal balm brands, founded in 1936. The original Mark II inhaler in its slim white tube is the brand's signature product, with the lineup now also including Pim-Saen balms and the Som-Mue wellness range.
BRAND HISTORY
The story began in 1936 in a small traditional herbal shop in Bangkok's Chinatown. The second generation refined the inhaler formula into a one-way version under the PE-PEX brand, and after a decade of success, R&D developed a new formula from the original secret ingredients — giving rise to the two-way POY-SIAN inhaler, later perfected as Mark II.
Thanks to its compact, easy-to-carry design, the inhaler became a popular substitute for balms and medicated oils from the 1990s onward. Expanding its portfolio for health-conscious customers, the brand introduced the Pim-Saen and Som-Mue lines. Today Poy-Sian remains a leading inhaler brand in Asia, carrying forward the spirit and recipe set by its founder over 80 years ago.
NATURAL QUALITY
The products are built on natural herbal essential oils — menthol, camphor, eucalyptus, and borneol. Manufacturing is GMP-certified per World Health Organization standards and approved by Thailand's FDA, ensuring consistent quality and safety in every batch.
EFFECTIVENESS & USE
The Poy-Sian inhaler is traditionally used for a light refreshing effect — inhaling the aroma helps revive the senses and ease travel fatigue or stuffiness. Its compact format makes it a convenient travel companion, while the Pim-Saen line offers a more concentrated balm for external use. The product is not a medicine and is intended for traditional refreshing use.
POPULARITY
Poy-Sian is one of the most recognizable Thai "yadom" brands, a staple souvenir for travelers and part of everyday life in Thailand for nearly 90 years. The brand is also widely used outside Thailand, including among Muay Thai fighters and coaches who value its refreshing effect.
